Lost Soul Archives

V/H/S Viral (2014)
VHS Viral follows the same anthology format but shifts focus toward viral fame and digital chaos. The wraparound centers on a chaotic police chase in Los Angeles, where a wannabe internet star gets pulled into a bizarre situation involving a mysterious ice cream truck. As onlookers film and upload footage, things spiral into surreal territory, tying into the films theme of obsession with media. The tapes here push into weirder, more experimental horror-one follows a magician with a cursed cloak, another features a parallel universe accessed through a homemade portal, and one throws a group of skateboarders into a brutal encounter with cultists and demons in Mexico. Compared to earlier entries, this one leans harder into fast pacing and visual overload. The shorts vary in tone, from gritty to over-the-top, with a more chaotic and fragmented vibe overall. The tech-focused slant gives it a different edge, even if not all the stories land the same way.
